3 Signs You Need Roof Repairs
Mar 05, 2024

The roof is one of the most important structural elements of any building. It protects your interior from the elements and pests. In our experience, it also helps make homes more energy-efficient. According to Allied Market Research, the world's roofing market should reach $156 billion by 2030. Every home and most commercial buildings need a roof, and rooftops have finite service lives. Here are three signs that local roofing contractors might need to repair or replace your roof.

1. Loose or Missing Shingles

One of the most obvious signs that you need the help of our local roofing contractors is when you see loose or missing shingles. A particularly bad windstorm might blow some shingles off of your roof or maybe blow a tree limb or the entire tree onto your roof. Snow and ice accumulation might loosen shingles during the winter and leave your roof vulnerable to precipitation or pests. Any loose or missing shingles require repairs to be done as soon as possible to protect against further damage.

2. Weak Roofline and Corners

When a rooftop ages, it can start to sag from the weight of the shingles and other roofing materials. The lines on the roof should be straight and the corners sharp and symmetrical. When the wooden structure that supports the roof ages and weakens, it can't hold the weight as well as it did when it was new. Our local roofing contractors can inspect your sagging roof and determine the best way to fix the problem, which might be to install an entirely new roof that will last for several decades.

3. Intrusive Water From Above

You might notice water dripping from the ceiling during heavy rainstorms or water stains on the ceiling. Our experts indicate that this is evidence of water penetrating the roof and collecting on top. The excess moisture makes its way through the ceiling materials and could cause water stains, cracks, and other damage that make it easier for water to drip into your home's interior. Instead of using pots and buckets to catch the water, it's time to have the roof inspected and repaired to stop the water from intruding into your home or place of business.
